Visp Swimming Sports Days August 27 and 28, 2026

At the end of August 2026, the Visp Swimming Sports Days will take place for the twelfth time. The focus remains on the joy of swimming and the promotion of swimming for all age groups.

For school classes
School classes spend an hour together enjoying water sports. The goal is for the class to get moving, have fun, and work together to overcome a swimming challenge. You can follow our progress in real time on a large screen.
We ask school groups to register in advance using the registration form.

For the public
The general public is also warmly invited to join in the swim. The event lasts two days and offers the opportunity to participate alone, in pairs, or in groups.
No registration is required—just drop by and join in the swim.

Closing Ceremony
All participants, whether school classes or groups, are welcome to bring a small flag or a creative symbol. These will be displayed at the swimming pool at the end of the swimming days.

Attractiveness of Visp swimming pool 2025

As part of the overall renovation of the Visp outdoor pool, the facility is being upgraded. This modernization includes several new attractions and energy-related technical improvements that will expand the leisure facilities and optimize the water quality.

One of the main attractions is the spectacular Racer Slide. This innovative water slide offers visitors an exciting and unforgettable experience. With parallel lanes, three people can start and race at the same time, which significantly increases the fun factor and ensures excitement for bathers.

A completely new children’s paddling pool is being built for our youngest guests. This facility consists of two pools at different levels, which are connected by a sluice with seating islands. Additional warm water flowing in via neck sills ensures a pleasant temperature. The equipment includes toddler slides, water spouts and a water mushroom, which provide a variety of water fun. A colorful splash park with various water sprinklers and a hilly landscape will be created next to the pool, offering children even more opportunities for play and discovery.

Tracks

Background information on labeling

The swimming lane signage is a projection of our beautiful mountain ranges in the mountain valleys around Visp. The reliefs of the six mountain ranges are also projected into the pool water at different depths. The highest mountains are in the deepest water and the Dom, the highest mountain on Swiss soil, is also centrally located in the pool below the other 4000-metre peaks.

The swimmer can choose the starting point (usually a mountain visible from Visp) for the start in the non-swimmer section and then swims over the chosen mountain range along the mountain peaks into the deep water to the majestically highest mountain peaks.

All six mountain ranges surround the Upper Valais with the center in Visp. If you connect the individual mountain peaks to the south with those to the north and to the west with those to the east in lines, the lines intersect centrally in the Visp swimming pool.

Numbers game

The highest mountain peaks of the tracks 1-5 add up to the age of the swimming pool in Visp in days. 21 900 (60 years) or 21 900 meters above sea level.
